Job Description

The Executive Director of Medical Sales Training is responsible for leading the design, development and deployment of learning and education programs in conjunction with strategic business leadership. Lead a progressive training department which aligns to the Medical Business strategic initiatives by driving programs that are agile, collaborative with Business Unit initiatives and simplifies next generational learning by enhancing delivery and adoption of technology learning tools. He/ she maintains reponsibility for coordination of all training programs, including assessing the effectiveness and value of all training programs and developing metrics to assess the need for revisions. This position is committed to supporting and enabling the success of the Medical Sales organization through effective Medical Training programs. Job Duties

In a typical day, you will:

* All key duties and responsibilities for internal and external facing education apply to all areas for each Business Unit within the Medical Systems Group.

* Lead overarching training projects and initiatives in conjunction with senior Business Unit leaders, assess and identify current and future organizational training and development requirements.

* Implement, manage and measure the effectiveness of key training programs and return on investment. 

* Cross-collaborate with sales business units to identify leadership development needs and build, and maintain, relationships with external training vendors for progressive and consistent training content and delivery. 

* Maintain strong knowledge of innovative learning technologies to support a dynamic, mobile and diverse sales force and product portfolio.

* Using innovation to stay at the forefront of our training and development. Partner with automation and enablement teams for focus on innovation and modernization of learning technology tools.

* Interact with Global and Reginal Training Leaders to continuously improve and maintain inter-segment training relationships, drive common market strategies, and share best practice experience and feedback. 

* Strategically establish and present the vision and direction for educational programs, services, training and development programs in alignment with the business objectives.

* Collaboratively align team activities to deliver programs in support of the Medical Training vision and strategy.

* Continuously measure accountability and delivery of the training team. 

* Design & implement an effective and consistent Sales Force Enablement program relevant to each Business Unit strategy.

* Establish a proven and consistent Sales Selling Skills platform for all Business Units.

* Maintain responsibility for the fiscal aspects of Medical Sales Training including budgeting and commercial planning in line with each business strategy.

* Oversee the team’s development and delivery of all training services, learning curriculum, objectives and instructional strategies including developing the best methodologies for material delivery.

* Establishing standardized methods and procedures for delivery, evaluation, measurement and reporting.

* Perform all duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a related discipline - Business, Clinical, Organizational/HR Development or related field is preferred.

* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including experience in-field sales leadership, sales operations and/or learning & leadership development is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Excellent project management, planning and analytical skills. 

* Ability to influence through data-driven recommendations. 

* Experience supporting a sales organization preferred. 

* Working knowledge of sales learning and development best practices, adult learning theory, and teaching techniques. 

* Ability to work effectively within a matrixed environment.Demonstrates leadership skills in the following areas:

* Ability to lead strategically and collaboratively aligning training team activities to support initiatives of specific business units.

* Ability to build high performing training team/s to:
-Meet deadlines.
-Build alliances beyond a singular focus.
-Operate cost effectively. 
-Ability to assess developmental needs of individual/s & training team/s.
-To develop strengths of team members through coaching and development plans.
-To implement corrective action to manage performance issues.

* Organizational skills to include:  
-Budget planning and maintenance.
-Adaptability to adjust team and individual team member's direction as necessary.
