Job Description

The purpose of the Strategic Pricing role is to develop and execute a comprehensive national pricing strategy for all business units of the Medical Systems Group to include new product introductions and changes to commercialized products.  Pricing strategy must be aligned to MSG GPO/IDN contracting structures and business unit priorities. 

Job Duties

 

  • Strategic pricing to include driving a standardized pricing process for all business units that will maximize bottom line margin performance. This process will provide greater consistency in pricing approach across all customer segments, standardized templates and approaches to help build institutional pricing capability.
  • Managing the end-to-end contract process including contract creation, price loads, marketing-initiated discount programs and one–time discount offers. Lead the internal collaboration with contract Operations, Sales Support, SFDC Teams, and others to effectively develop, approve, and distribute pricing offers to customers.
  • Develop pricing structures, discount matrices and pricing corridors based on customer and product segmentations
  • Tracking contract pricing performance & compliance, maintaining adherence to internal audit requirements.
  • Field Sales Pricing Reporting, creating real time analysis of areas specific opportunities to assist Sales Leadership in attaining & exceeding sales plan, coordinating other initiatives to drive better bottom-line accountability and performance. 
  • Lead an internal price council designed to achieve stated financial plan and to develop and manage an exception / change management process.
  • Effectively operate in a cross functional environment with the ability to advise and influence sales, marketing, finance, operations and legal.
  • Assess current organizational capabilities and recommend structure and function to execute a new strategic process for the organization.
  • Develop, lead and manage staff on format and content of price request, financial analysis, non-standard contract requirements and competitive sales dynamics

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of ten years progressive experience in healthcare with proven experience in the following functions preferred: Pricing, Finance, Contract Operations, Marketing and Commercial Leadership
  • Minimum 30% travel expected
  • Must be available during the working hours of your team (different time zones, etc.)
  • Strong functional knowledge of GPO/IDN agreement creation, management and implementation preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a strategic vision for change across

 

Preferred:

  • Builds strong collaboration with Enterprise Solutions and other Business Unit leaders across Olympus medical Systems Group
  • Excellent at creating and delivering meaningful and timely sales metrics and dashboards to strategically manage price across the GPO and IDN contract portfolio. Excellent analytical skills.
  • Effectively operate in a cross functional matrix environment with the ability to advise and influence sales, marketing, finance, operations and legal and leading change.
  • Strong leadership presence and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project ownership and project management capabilities
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain a calm demeanor in the face of difficult challenges
