Job Description

The Director of HEOR will report directly to the Global Head of HEMA and collaborate closely with MCA functions to run Health Economic and outcome research to support market access strategies across the Olympus portfolio.

As appropriate, the individual is a critical member of MCA leadership and collaborates with cross-functional teams, including internal and external business stakeholders within MSA, across ESD and TSD business units, and within the broader Olympus organization. This Position will provide a leadership role at the global level in strategic planning, defining, developing, and leading the implementing health economic outcome research (HEOR) strategies that enhance the value proposition of Olympus technologies.

The Position will manage and provide direction to the Health Economic team within the HEMA function.

Job Duties

* Leads the design, planning, and execution of the entire Health Economic outcomes and analyses portfolio, including protocol development, data management, staticial analysis, monitoring, and final studies and preparation of abstracts and manuscripts.

 

* Develop and direct HEOR strategy, including creating endpoints to address market needs, data management, and responsible for the governance process.

 

* Inform the process for developing global product-specific reimbursement strategies based on the requirements of technology assessment organizations and payers, including Medicare, NICE, etc. 

 

* Employ robust scientific methods to timely execute the HEMA strategy aligned with the clinical development plan and broader objectives.

 

* Identify and maintain successful research relationships with HEOR KOLs and other clinical and/or academic consultants.

 

* Lead the data monitoring, and final analyses and preparation of abstracts and manuscripts in partnership with Medical Affairs' Scientific Communications team.

 

* Identify the need for and contribute directly to the development of processes and delivery of training aimed at increasing the efficiency, quality, and impact of functional activities.

 

* Manage Health Economic team to ensure competence in epidemiologic skills and knowledge.

 

* Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Doctoral degree or Master's degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, or related discipline, such as Outcomes Research.

 

* 8+ years device/pharmaceutical industry experience preferably in HEMA, Clinical Affairs/Operations, Medical Affairs within the pharma/biotech industry (preferably in multiple phases and multiple roles). 

 

* Advance competence in experimental and HEMA study design, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, economic evaluation, statistical modeling, and statistical programming.

 

* Expertise in designing and executing budget impact models, cost-effectiveness models, cost-minimization analyses, and literature reviews. 

 

* The Person will have extensive experience designing and executing budget impact models, cost-effectiveness models, cost-minimization analyses, and literature reviews. 

 

* Facile with data management software, licensing and programming.

 

* Able to identify data or analytical issues and assist with providing solutions by either applying own skills and knowledge or seeking help from others.

 

* Experience in longitudinal retrospective studies of existing databases to assess patient characteristics, treatment patterns, and associated clinical, economic, and patient-reported outcomes.

 

* Experience in assessments exploring the burden of illness, patient preference studies, and comparative effectiveness.

 

* The Person will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Global health outcome research experience and professional presentation history preferred. 

 

* Domestic and international travel 20%, including weekend and evening travel as needed.
