Job Description

The purpose of the Content Marketing Manager is to oversee and assist with the writing, development, production, and implementation of both static and dynamic content for social media, web, e-mail, public relations, and executive communications. A primary focus will include, but are not be limited to, working with Olympus America Inc (OAI) Medical Systems Group business unit marketing teams to establish content strategies that speaks directly to target audiences while serving relevant/timely marketing materials at the appropriate stages of the customer journey. Many of the created assets will have the purpose of supporting and broadening Olympus’ digital presence and capabilities. Content types this position will include, but not be limited to, web content, blogs, articles and white papers, infographics, video scripts, etc. A junior level copywriter will report directly to this position.

Job Duties

* Leverage audience insights, personas, keyword research, messaging themes, competitive information and analytics to develop engaging content for email, web, social, digital campaigns, video, etc. that supports sales and marketing initiatives.


* Assist in planning and timing of distribution of content across all channels.


* Consistently research industry-related topics across several different businesses and product lines and be able to apply ideas and concepts into planning and strategies.


* Interview industry professionals and incorporate their views in blog posts and various forms of media.


* Be able to navigate ambiguity and identify customers’ needs, while recommending appropriate strategies and content to serve for both paid and non-paid campaigns.


* Coordinate with marketing teams and various internal teams to create/gain internal alignment in order to illustrate articles, and develop various forms of content.


* Monitor and analyze the performance of content with established KPIs to offer suggestions for improving content focus and distribution.


* Employ SEO best practices in writing, where applicable, to maximize the online visibility.


* Recommend and support new strategies, MarTech platforms, workflow processes, and omni-channel initiatives to increase the scalability and efficiency within the marketing organizations.


* Play a critical role in building the Olympus brand on social media and enhancing perception from a digital perspective while also adhering to values, and ensuring legal & compliance is top of mind during implementation of all strategies and approaches.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Professional Writing or a related field.


* Minimum 5  years of content development, technical writing, copywriting, or content marketing required.




* Experience writing across multiple channels; including ad copy, technical writing, sales collateral, email marketing, social media, thought leadership or blogs.


* Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new business domain knowledge to content strategy and asset creation.


* Ability to translate product benefits/features, industry trends and data into engaging content.


* Must have experience with digital publishing platforms.


* Must have experience with writing content based on strategies that are intended to drive traffic and generate leads.


* Knowledge of keywords, basic SEO, tagging, linking content and other various MarTech systems strongly preferred.


* Experience working in a regulatory field or for a medical device company a major plus.


* Experience managing direct reports preferred.


* Experience with web analytics preferred.


* Experience with working within a CMS preferred.
