Job Description

The position is responsible for maximizing the cash flow for Olympus via timely collection of accounts receivable. They supervise and conduct release of orders on credit hold and ensure that customer accounts are cleanly maintained. They supervise the activities of Collections Administrators (CAs) and Senior Collections Administrators (SCAs) and assist the Director of Collections with training and developing team members to ensure that desired results are achieved.

Job Duties

* Train and mentor CAs and SCAs in collection techniques account research and best business practices.

 

* Identify areas of need and develop effective training to address needs.

 

* Supervise daily activities of CAs and SCAs.

 

* Partner with CAs SCAs and Senior Manager Collections in monitoring account agings and ensure that daily activities support the goal of minimizing aged balances.

 

* Manage the monthly process for one or more of the key portfolio functions (dunning final demand and third party placement process service contracts or issues log).

 

* Collect past due invoices and work closely with Sales staff to resolve payment problems.

 

* Handle large and challenging customer accounts and assist team members with their most challenging customers.

 

* Approve orders for release from credit hold; monitor credit hold release activity of CAs and SCAs; escalate issues to Senior Manager Collections or Risk Group as needed to facilitate flow of orders.

 

* Monitor the portfolio and research debit and credit memos involving sales transactions returns payments sales terms and repairs for assigned accounts.

 

* Use research results to ensure that offsetting items are cleared from accounts.

 

* Assist team members with complex problem situations.

 

* Maintain customer communications needed to support collection of invoices and reconciliation of accounts receivable records.

 

* Interface with divisional personnel to exchange information necessary for the resolution of past due invoices from the Accounts Receivable portfolio.

 

* Make recommendations for placement of accounts with collection agency; make recommendations for write-off of uncollectible amounts.

 

* Develop conduct and present reports to management as make recommendations and redirect team member activities based on portfolio trends.

 

* Assist with training and development of collections Administrators and Senior Collections Administrators.

 

* Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* High school Diploma or equivalent required.

 

* Minimum 5 years of collections or equivalent experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

* Experience with JDE systems preferred.

 

* Detail oriented and organized; capable of handling research and collections; accounting and/or financial aptitude and proven experience required; strong PC skills – Word Excel & email a must; strong communication skills.
