Job Description
Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) distributes a wide range of medical and surgical devices used to diagnose and treat diseases. OCA needs to educate health care providers on the safe and effective, on label use of those products through Professional Education courses, workshops, and training events. This position is responsible for using clinical expertise to develop and deliver educational curriculum related to the safe and effective use of Olympus products.
OCA Curriculum Development/Clinical Educator Responsibility – 70%
Global Curriculum Development Responsibility – 30%
Job Duties
- Responsible for identifying unmet educational needs across the assigned business unit through collaboration with internal/external stakeholders to propose and develop new courses, materials, or other needs.
- Support aligning OCA Regional Professional Education to address the prioritized competency gaps and establish the corresponding education curriculum/training required to support Olympus products and services.
- Work collaboratively with Prof Ed Clinical Educators on the delivery of educational programs.
- Support in designing and discovering innovative training approaches and tools to facilitate engagement across learners.
- Develop relationships internal / external stakeholders (HCP’s, Marketing departments, Program Managers and Clinical Educators) to develop and improve the educational curriculum.
- Identify, engage and audit KOL’s to support the development and execution of educational activities.
- Support courses on-site/virtually to ensure all discussions remain on label and critique the event to identify areas to target for improvement through discussions with faculty, registered attendees, and other Olympus colleagues.
- Support clinical issues in accounts that can benefit from educational support on the safe and effective use of Olympus products, including in-service programs.
- Create and present educational programs to accounts and professional organizations.
- Support Professional Education as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Global Curriculum Development Responsibility
- Global assigned Business Unit Primary Contact and responsible for global needs assessment collection.
- Lead Global Professional Affairs BRD projects and Global Post Commercialization Improvement.
- Lead Global development of evidence-based on-site/online training Curriculum and OCA Content Development for procedure and safe &effective use training with Olympus products in close cooperation with internal/external stakeholders.
- Analyze curriculums to plan and achieve standardized educational content.
- Responsible for the Medical review of the MLR process
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related clinical field such as nursing is required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Medical Device or Pharma Industry.
- Clinical expertise in either Surgical, Respiratory or GI medical field, either as a technician or nurse.
- Experience implementing curriculum and training plans, strategies, best practices, policies and processes.
- Experience in training needs assessment, strategic training prioritization, resource planning and overall execution of training strategies to support innovative training approaches and use of training tools to facilitate engagement across learners.
- Must be flexible to work 1-2 weekends a month.
- Must be available to travel about 40% of work time. Most travel is within the US, however international travel may be required. Ability to travel via airplane is required.
- Ability to operate a vehicle is required.
Preferred:
- Clinical expertise preferred in either surgery or GI endoscopy field, either technical or nursing.
- Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Successful track record of managing and balancing multiple projects with overlapping timelines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Strong consulting, facilitation, and communication skills bridging between scientific and business unit priorities, to manage effective cross-divisional collaboration.
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with minimal oversight.
- Successful track record of managing and balancing multiple projects with overlapping timelines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Professional certification in a related field is preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $101,523.00 - $142,132.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
