Job Description
This position will support the Operational Excellence projects at the site. Analyze the current state of the production area and make recommendations to improve product flow, improve efficiencies and reduce scrap. They will participate/lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Job Duties
- Responsible for overall Facility and Cleanroom Layouts, capacity planning, cost improvement including equipment moves and additions.
- Liaison with Manufacturing engineering to evaluate all current and future production lines for manufacturing layout, work content, and efficiencies for meeting demand.
- Select and implement appropriate technologies that result in lower manufacturing cost, lower process variability and higher manufacturing capability.
- Develop and collaborate for project status reporting, proactively identifying, resolving, and presenting any issues that may impact the team’s ability to meet key goals.
- Works with other functions to standardize, leverage and implement engineering tools and establish best-demonstrated practices.
- Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities. Innovate and implement process improvements.
- Ownership of Site level Work Content and Driving Productivity Improvements to hit annual targets.
- Ability to coach, train, and mentor others on Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to create and influence local and global Lean Tools.
- Accountable for Site Continuous Improvement system.
- All Other Essential Duties as directed.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- B.S. degree in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of successful product development within a regulated product development environment.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, domestic.
Preferred:
- Able to think both logically and creatively and possess sound reporting abilities.
- Working knowledge of core engineering tools. For example: 6-sigma, FMEA, Risk Analysis, Process Mapping, Standard Work Instructions, Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Work Instruction Creation, DOE methods, Process Characterization, Verification & Validation activities.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $77,515.00 - $104,645.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
