Job Description

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will support the Manager in driving process improvement initiatives across the organization. This role is essential in assisting with the implementation of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will work closely with cross functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyse processes, and implement solutions that contribute to the overall business objectives.

     

    Job Duties

    • Process Analysis and Improvement: Assist in analysing current processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Collaborate with teams to develop and implement solutions that enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Support Continuous Improvement Projects: Work alongside the Manager to plan, execute, and monitor continuous improvement projects. Ensure that projects are completed on time and deliver the expected results.
    • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyse data to support process improvement initiatives. Use statistical tools and methodologies to identify trends, measure performance, and provide actionable insights.
    • Lean Methodology Implementation: Assist in embedding Lean principles and practices across the organization. Support teams in applying Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream  Mapping to drive continuous improvement.
    • Training and Education: Help develop and deliver training sessions on Lean and continuous improvement concepts. Support the education of employees at all levels to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of continuous improvement activities, including process changes, project outcomes, and best practices. Assist in preparing reports for the Manager and senior leadership.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance, to support continuous improvement efforts.
    • Foster collaboration and communication across teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
    • Continuous Improvement Culture: Support initiatives that promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Encourage employee engagement and participation in improvement activities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    Required:

    • High School Diploma required. 
    • Minimum 2-year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent related years of experience.
    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations role with exposure to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus and may be advantageous. 

     

    Preferred:

    • Strong statistical, analytical and decision-making sense of urgency skills.
    • Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
    • Strong knowledge of development methodologies and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio desirable.
    • Able to perform required duties with minimum supervision.
    • Knowledge of FDA regulations is desirable.

    The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $28.00 - $37.80 / hour, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
