Job Description
The Senior Facilities Technician performs a variety of specialized duties in the construction repair maintenance renovations and general repairs for the Brooklyn Park site. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting problems as they arise identifying and addressing potential areas of concern and operating equipment necessary to complete these tasks. The Senior FacilitiesTechnician must have an aptitude for all of the various building systems as well as strong organizational and problem solving skills. This position requires the ability to be a self-starter be highly organized and perform hands-on work well. The Senior Facilities Technician is expected to take ownership of the repair and maintenance of a wide range of production maintenance and development equipment. This position also requires the skills to administer and maintain an appropriate spare parts program for production and maintenance equipment.
Job Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing quality engineering and facilities equipment when necessary.
- Enter any new manufacturing quality or facilities equipment requiring PM into the software program.
- Ensure there are no discrepancies in equipment policies and procedures.
- Communicate discrepancies to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Respond to and correct any internal Dekra or FDA audit findings pertaining to (PM) preventative maintenance.
- Ensure that all applicable SOPS GSOPS and work instruction policies and procedures are strictly followed.
- Partipicate respond and correct any audit findings pertaining to maintenance.
- Closely works with outside vendors and contractors to ensure that work is completed according to specification.
- Project coordinator for facility related projects.
- Maintain building security and may be required to respond to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis. Solicit bids and quotes from outside vendors.
- Assist in training of other technicians in all aspects of maintenance and applicable software programs.
- Procure and maintain spare parts inventory for the site.
- Communicate with manufacturing supervisors managers technicians engineers or group leaders to minimize downtime on production lines.
- Is a ‘subject matter expert' in regards to the Maintenance Tech position; has the ability to work independently with no direction and use sound judgment as well as the ability to work in a team and promote cooperation.
- Assists with corporate engineered projects as requested including planning startup and commissioning.
- Schedules and meets with applicable auditors/inspectors and follows through to completion.
- Assist other Facility team members in daily activities and projects and perform any other related duties assigned by Facilities Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of a 2-year technical degree in a maintenance related field.
- Ability to obtain Special Boilers license within 1 year of hire
- Minimum of 7 years or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule on occasion including weekends and/or holidays.
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
- Additional physical requirements: Ability to Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Climb/Balance/Crouch/Crawl; Perform physical labor in a variety of extreme climatic conditions including walking, bending, stooping, climbing, digging, lifting, painting, and general manual labor; Ability to work from heights and climb ladders
Preferred:
- Proficient in preventative maintenance software.
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint Visio and Outlook) is necessary.
- ISO Class 7 Cleanroom experience or equivalent required.
- Proficient in Agile and Oracle software. Able to review C/O'S related to facility maintenance.
- Strong understanding of all HVAC systems including but not limited to: chillers, dry coolers, VAV'S, FPVAV'S, boilers etc.
- Proficient in Facilities Explorer software.
- Maintain acceptable standards for attendance and work overtime as needed.
- Ability to create update and maintain KPIS (metrics) from the maintenance software and Facilities Explorer software programs as requested by the Facilities Manager.
