Job Description
Ensures the accurate receipt stocking pick/pack and shipping of Olympus products.
Job Duties
- Picking/Packing:
- Receives documents on paper or via electronic RF equipment (pick slip/label) containing items to be taken from stock for shipment to the customer.
- Locates designated items in the warehouse and picks all items until the order is complete.
- Scans item numbers against container ID using handheld scanners that read information directly to PKMS database and notifies the supervisor of missing items.
- Handles each customer order as stated in the notes section of the work order/label or in instructions provided by the division.
- Packs the order using standard shipping supplies e.g. boxes filler material etc.
- Maintains and updates inventory levels for special packaging materials.
- Coordination:
- Receives urgent orders, cancelled orders and changes to orders communicated by Customer Service Reps or Dealer Support Reps via telephone and/or e-mail and handles accordingly, and highlights, monitors and ensures completion of rushes and special notes (i.e. Brooklyn and shuttle orders).
- Manages workflow to warehouse floor by running various wave selections (automated information sections within the Warehouse Management System).
- Also addresses any systems issues with printing or label generation replacing parts or troubleshooting equipment.
- Maintains the open order report at DC and reviews open waves older than 48 hours identifying the reason(s) for delays and either resolving them or bringing them to management attention.
- Reviews pick slips for the division.
- Works with shipping to route orders.
- Shipping/Receiving:
- Reviews all inbound documents.
- Verifies trailer and seal against receiving documents.
- Bridges down inbound receipts from JD Edwards into PKMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Skid weights damage etc. and processes and handles all damages and loss claims.
- Investigates discrepancies between documents and physical receipts.
- Maintains and files receiving documents i.e Control log, and Productivity log etc.
- Assists supervisor with regard to staff direction and disposition within shipping/receiving departments.
- Assists other departments in a timely manner as issues arise.
- Assists with outbound shipments.
- Once outbound shipments have been checked and verified by a Supervisor/Team Leader and documents have been signed loads trailers and verified they have been properly sealed with a lock and/or OAI seal.
- Prepares Bills of Lading.
- Manifests outbound freight (secures driver's signature). Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience in a warehouse environment.
Preferred:
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
