Job Description

Olympus America Inc. Scientific Solutions Group is a precision manufacturing leader creating innovative Opto-digital and analytical instrument solutions for a variety of manufacturing industries. We provide product and software solutions that help customers increase manufacturing productivity and maintain capital equipment and facilities. Our product solutions include industrial microscopes ultrasonic testing equipment XRF/XRD analytical instruments and other related technologies. This position will serve Olympus customers by providing product demonstration application development support and training for Industrial microscopy product line. The product categories included in this positions' responsibilities are Semiconductor Analytical equipment Metallurgical microscope Measuring Microscope Stereomicroscope Laser Microscope. The position will also support industrial microscope sales reps of the same function. The Technical Sales Support Specialist II will assist the product managers in developing marketing collateral contents for publications website and social media platforms. 

Job Duties

* Provide products and applications support to sales representatives (both direct and indirect) customers and internal staff for Industrial microscope products and accessories.


* Provide hands-on technical support for assigned Industrial products. This includes instrument setup and calibration on site demonstration and technical consultation supporting both microscope end-users and collaborative partners.


* Provide day-to-day technical support for leads quotes and orders and answering questions from sales reps and customers.


* Develop material for technical workshops seminars and internal & external training courses covering product functionality and applications for customers and the approved sales channels.


* Conduct training sessions for internal and external audience.


* Contribute knowledge capturing process by assisting in the maintenance of product knowledge database.


* On assignment basis perform trade-show duties and coordinate demo- equipment shipment with the help of logistics team and tradeshow manager.


* Contribute content for use in sales tools publications company website and company blog type of media platforms.


* Travel to customer sites within the United States Canada and Latin America for training and/or other sales support requirements.


* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science discipline required.


* Higher level of education in the above mentioned disciplines preferred.


* Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.




* Minimum of 2 years of Microscopy imaging and/or metrology experience preferred.


* Knowledge in materials science and mechanical engineering are preferred.


* Experience in industrial imaging and metrology software is highly desirable.


* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines.


* Must possess strong analytical skills to make recommendations to internal and external customers.


* Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects working independently to meet deadlines.


* Ability to learn and use new business and technical software.


* Must be able to understand the technical aspects of the product.


* Must be able to understand the customer's application and use of the product.


* Must have an ability to communicate (verbal and written) with customers and internal team effectively.
