Job Description

The Project Analyst, Global Program Management Office (GPMO), is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual looking to gain experience in overall PMO and business strategy.  As an integral member of the Portfolio Management team and PMO, the Project Analyst will assist in developing the newly formed division’s overall strategy. The qualified candidate will support in the development and managing PMO and strategic planning tools (i.e. communication tools, dashboards, creating and maintaining a global project database, reporting process, central project document repository, KPI tracking mechanisms, portfolio scenario tools, bubble charts, etc.) to enable portfolio prioritization, strategic business planning, project activation, project execution and reporting.  He/she will also coordinate and manage the communication, execution and reporting of the TSD/ESD Project Approval Board (PAB).

 

This individual will work closely with regional PMOs (OSTE, OSTA and OTA), Portfolio management team, Market Intelligence and Finance departments to gather the right inputs to perform the analytics.  He/she will perform analyses and provide support on a broad range of projects of strategic importance to Olympus.  A key part of this role will involve supporting the implementation, and managing of a portfolio management and strategic planning system solution.

Job Duties

In a typical day, you will:

 

* Collaborate with Strategic Business Process team by providing accurate Project list information to ensure consistent updates across the rPMOs.  Support the implementation and lead the administration of the project portfolio database.

 

* Lead in the development and maintenance of the TSD/ESD Share Site that organizes and updates central project documents in a user-friendly manner and manage access to the site for users/customers.  Responsible for analyses, compilation, verification of data integrity, development, and delivery of reports critical to TSD/ESD’s strategic plan.

 

* Partner with regional PMOs to ensure submissions are created in alignment with established tools and templates and accurate and timely information is submitted.

 

* Maintain applicable standard project and reporting templates and tools providing training and direction to TSD/ESD members.

 

* Prepare project reports, dashboards and scorecards.

 

* Track project KPIs and collaborate with regional PMOs and Project Managers to understand drivers and implications of project KPIs through subsequent changes.

 

* Create impactful and compelling presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

 

* Work with CPMO to develop and maintain agenda for PAB, coordinate meetings, minutes/actions, and deliverables.

 

* Develop a system to track, organize, and communicate PAB action items.

 

* Participate in the improvement efforts for PAB.

 

* Support and coordinate training efforts.

 

* Maintenance of Business Review Deliverables (BRD) tools and templates.

 

* Improve Tools and templates as needed to harmonize with rPMO including TSD/ESD Governance Process and guidance documents.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or related field.  

 

* 0-2 years’ experience in analytics, corporate strategy, or related field.  Medical device experience preferred. 

 

* Excellent attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

* Experience in developing presentations and communicating data analysis or results.
