Job Description
This position is responsible for the booking of incoming Medical and/or Surgical equipment to the Service Department. Oversee the cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilizing of any incoming Medical and/or Surgical equipment. Processing of product returns in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures.
Job Duties
- Lead the team to accomplish throughout targets by distributing the workload to Booking and Reprocessing Specialists ensuring the registration and reprocessing are completed in timely manner.
- Oversees the WIP on daily basis and updates based on the requirements.
- Supervise the team in absence of the management.
- Book and validate all incoming Medical and/or Surgical equipment in the appropriate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilizing all incoming Medical and/or Surgical equipment.
- Action open issue log and invalid exceptions on a daily basis.
- Ensuring the instrument cases are labeled and storing of cases in the appropriate areas.
- Perform periodic maintenance on equipment used in the CDS department.
- Maintain and improve productivity level to achieve daily/monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and ensure that personal protective equipment is used and maintained at all times.
- Ensures completion of accurate service records and immediate documentation of Discrepant Material Notices (DMN).
- Proactively participates in the quality systems, quality improvement and 5S programs as directed by the management.
- Support and initiate Change Notices (CNs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs) when required.
- Assist Supervisors/Managers with hiring new Technical Staff.
- Holds meeting (Huddles) when supervisor is not on production floor or when requested by supervisor.
- Provide feedback to supervisor on observations, improvements, workflow processes made by staff.
- May be required to perform duties in support of business needs by working in other areas outside their primary responsibilities.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
Job Qualification
Required:
- High school diploma required. A graduate of a community college (1–2-year program) with a technology concentration preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical repairs with mechanical and/or electronic equipment preferred.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
Preferred:
- Effective and timely communication both oral and written.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with other software programs.
- Able to perform required duties with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of Health Canada regulations desirable.
- Service responsibilities include the handling of products and equipment that may have potentially come in to contact with blood or bodily fluids.
