Job Description

The Urology Product Manager will report directly to the Director of Product Marketing for Stone & Lithotripsy Devices. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities to support a portfolio of products that includes Lasers and Stone Management Devices.

 

The PM is the product expert and is responsible for providing the tools and resources necessary to drive downstream, regional marketing activities in the US market. This includes but is not limited to: creating and contributing to annual business plans, forecasting sales, new product launches, product lifecycle management, market development research, internal and external promotional activity, creating new collateral material and sales training resources, customer relationship management, competitive analysis, technical support, supporting clinical study activity, and so on.   
 

Job Duties

* Interfacing with cross-functional project teams, physicians and sales personnel to provide guidance necessary to develop world class products that meet customers’ needs.

 

* Monitoring sales trends and updating forecasts as necessary to meet demand.

 

* Monitoring of market trends including competition, procedural/market growth, reimbursement, and emerging technologies.

 

* Creating marketing collateral and tools to support the selling process.

 

* Developing relationships and work closely with health care professionals in clinical situations to understand and promote benefits of Olympus products.

 

* Field work with sales, sales management, and clinical team.

 

* Working hand in hand with other companies in the industry that complement Olympus’ products to promote products (i.e. Sterilizer, Pharmaceutical or Flouroscopy companies).

 

* Creating and implementing the tactics that support the marketing strategies to include pricing, positioning, programs and promotions that are in line with the strategic business plan. 

 

* Maintaining your expertise as the “product and clinical specialist” by attending procedures, courses, tradeshows, and staying abreast of industry changes and advancements.

 

* Creating training presentations, tools and conducting training for sales at training sessions, national sales meeting, tradeshows, customers, etc.

 

* Facilitate the design and implementation of clinical studies and white papers that supports the overall imaging initiatives.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* BS/BA degree required, with MBA preferred .

 

* External experience:

  • with BS/BA in Marketing - minimum of 5 years of experience providing overall leadership in the market as well as evaluating a given market and assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and developing and implementing strategies.
  • with MBA - minimum of 3 years of experience providing overall leadership in the market as well as evaluating a given market and assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and developing and implementing strategies.

 

* Internal experience:

  • BA/BS in Marketing or related field - minimum of 3 years Olympus experience combined sales/marketing/operations/sales support/upstream/R&D/service.
  • Master’s/MBA - minimum of 2 years Olympus combined experience as above. 

 

* Ability to travel 20 – 30% domestically and occasionally internationally. (Conference, Meetings and Operating Room Settings).
