Job Description

Olympus is seeking a disciplined, results orientated, hands-on and self-driven Hardware Test Engineer. This is a technical position requiring software, hardware, and test engineering skills as well as lab equipment management responsibilities.

The Hardware Test Engineer will be responsible for setting up test client & server systems and maintaining lab equipment, writing test protocols and working closely with the development engineers to execute test protocols, document and provide feedback. This position will require test development and technical expertise in areas ranging from UI, computer hardware platforms, networking, performance analysis, & video.

Job Duties

* Perform hardware verification testing and as needed software verification testing


* Document & analyze system, hardware, and software failures during verification.


* Execute performance level testing to generate hardware & system performance metrics.


* Setup and maintain lab test systems and supporting equipment.


* Document test bed configurations.


* Track equipment inventory.


* Identify test equipment needs.


* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



* Minimum of 5 years of experience with test plan creation and execution using problem tracking software for reporting and analysis


* Experience with setting up computer & client networks


* Strong familiarity with operation, installation and administration of Microsoft Windows and Server.


* Experience with computer hardware platforms.


* Experience testing UI software applications.


* Strong organizational, problem solving skill & documentation skills.


* Basic understanding of video standards such as MPEG2, H.264, etc.




* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.


*  Automated testing tool experience,


* Knowledge of medical device product development and testing lifecycles.
