Job Description

Members of our engineering team are responsible for designing, documenting and testing innovative medical devices, products and tools to support the Company’s current product lines, as well as new products in the development pipeline. Our software test engineers focus on writing specifications, testing protocols and processes to cover a wide range of clinical applications such as Image Guided Surgery, Ultrasound, and Artificial Intelligence.

Job Duties

* Drive all product software testing types (functional, integration, system, regressions) using automated and manual testing techniques.


* Create and maintain product test plans.


* Work closely with Veran’s software development team to test features as completed through Veran’s Agile development processes.


* Log, analyse, and report test results.


* Create and manage documentation pertaining to FDA-compliant quality assurance (QA) system.


* Define and evolve testing standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.


* Execute verification testing for new software releases.


* Create and maintain automated UI tests and maintain in a continuous integrated environment.


* Support internal personnel during validation testing.


* Triage and investigate bug reports and complaints.


* Other projects and duties as necessary and assigned.

Job Requirements


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other engineering degree preferred.


* Travel to other Company facilities, hospitals, and animal lab settings may be required.



* Prior software testing experience preferred.


* Software quality assurance experience preferred.


* Professional software testing experience preferred.


* Excellent written communication skills.


* Detail oriented and organized.


* Collaborative and works efficiently as part of a team.


* Experience with bug tracking systems (especially Bugzilla) Preferred.


* Prior work experience requiring interaction with other departments in the performance of QA/testing responsibilities.


* Knowledge of perl, C++, shell, SQL, python, Qt, CMake preferred.


* Experience with automated UI test frameworks preferred (especially Froglogic Squish).


* Demonstrated working knowledge of 21 CFR 820 (Quality Systems Medical Devices), ISO 13485, ISO14791, and other medical device related standards preferred.


* This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. Relocation benefits may be available for this position.


* The anticipated compensation range for this position is $59,000 - $81,000 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
